Some time back, Nicole went looking for books with science experiments she could do with her then preschool-aged children. Discouraged by the available offerings, she approached her father-in-law, Seymour Simon. He suggested they collaborate to fill the void, and the Let’s Try It Out series was born.
Today Nicole writes mostly for adults, but she is still engaged in occasional projects aimed at helping improve the lives of young children. She has written about school nursing, health literacy, and the epidemic of dental disease in children. She covers many other health and education topics for nationally known clients, drawing on her prior experience producing award-winning independent films and Public Television programs, teaching children and adults, and collaborating on an anthology of historic documents published by the University of Pittsburgh Press. When she’s not writing, she provides communications consulting services to educational institutions and associations.
